What is Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS)? How does it work? Is direct air capture an efficient solution? All your questions on CCUS answered on this episode.
Joining me is the CTO of Aker Carbon Capture Jim Stian Olsen, who shares the story of how Aker started developing its technical expertise around carbon capture. Also, how is it building its first CCUS plant in the Nordic?
Aker group has a strong background in energy exploration and started early in carbon capture.
The cost is definitely a factor and as scale picks up we’ll definitely see a reduction in cost and the other challenge is energy efficiency which again is going to be a matter of time before optimisation. And talking of time we will also see the project life-cycles come down significantly going forward.
