How do we estimate the amount of CO2 a renewable energy project saves over a lifetime? They are location specific. Post the Kyoto protocol the Clean Development Mechanism was introduced. The CDM outlines the procedure to calculate the grid emission factors at regular frequency and correspondingly estimate the CO2 savings.
