Google has done it again! By now we know Google’s interest in clean energy but now it has taken it to the next level. The little box challenge has Google partnering IEEE to fund the prize for the most efficient inverter ever to be built. That is 50W/ cubic inch. That is having an inverter that is the size of your tablet.
IEEE intends to partner and set standards for the new concept. The prize money is $1 Million. That’s a huge motivation for all the OEGS who have been working on the latest solar inverters, but Google’s interest is much more than that. More info here.
