It took over five years, but the milestone episode was always on the cards and with support from great collaborators like TerreGeneration it was bound to be special and the 100th episode turned out to be a video podcast. Watch the full conversation which captures all the fun and interesting experiences from running and producing content for 100+ episodes.
The theme of the video interview was ‘Hit Rewind: A walk down memory lane’.
One conversation in Renewable Energy that was on top of my memory was the story of REConnect Energy. Vishal Pandya, Founder and CEO joined me for a conversation during the peak of COVID19 outbreak. Here’s the conversation:-
On similar lines we discussed the impact of Climate Change on Renewable Energy generation particularly how inconsistent has the wind generation become due to climate change and how we can get better at it with the help of technology.
In terms of technology in renewable energy, a company that was featured has pioneered the art of storing Carbon Di-Oxide and utilising it as a power source. A conversation that is worth listening ft. Energy Dome.
Most of the clean energy conversations featured passionate entrepreneurs in the space and I had to highlight the conversation with Harsha from Ecosoch. It was another conversation that happened during the pandemic and to make it special another clean-tech entrepreneur, Sishir joined the conversation.
The podcast has also featured a range of conversations around sustainability and we had a sustainability champion to begin the proceedings with Kapil Sharma, founder of Say Trees.
A similar story but on a very different scale with another Eco-entreprenuer, Varun Ravindra of Vanantara.
While Kapil Sharma’s organisation pioneers large scale tree plantation, we have Kapil from Edible Routes who helps people take ownership of farms in a small way via community contributions.
While meat production is energy intensive, we have entrepreneurs like Todd Boyman from Hungry Planet who have pioneered Chef-crafted meat production and recipes.
Plastics has been a popular topic and the podcast had a range of entrepreneurs working in this space and we had Kathir from Ecohike who began the proceedings and yes, I have a Mission Shunya t-shirt manufactured from recycled plastic bottles.
In terms of impact, there was a story about how young school children and their Fridays for Future had a positive impact on the business of Climate Partner. Tristan Foerster had many interesting stories to share. Listen here:-
Jacob who has been a generous supporter of the podcast and of Mission Shunya has had significant impact through his work through TerreGeneration, the first conversation between us was on a podcast episode.
There have been great stories that I have recounted multiple times ever since the release of the episode and one such story feature Neel Mathews.
Giving waste a second life is the purpose of Rimagined and the good part about the story is the impact the brand and the company has on the livelihoods of people in rural India. A conversation that is worth a listen, ft. Shailaja Rangarajan
Community impact at a grass-root level has been seen across multiple episodes and one such episode featured Padmashree Balaram who got local community involved in waste seggregation.
Producing podcasts had a lot of fun conversations from a personal perspective as well, I got my better half, Premasri join and share her experience as we ran a detailed analysis before buying an electric vehicle.
We did a few more episodes and one was around small but meaningful sustainability practices.
On a personal level podcasting first began as a producer when I collaborated with Dr Rahul Walawalkar in getting India’s clean-tech podcast, Emerging Tech Radio. We got together to have another interesting conversation around a topic that is passionate for both of us, energy storage.
Podcasts as a medium also gave me an opportunity to explore multiple topics including forecasting the future. This is how it unfolded:-
EnergyX was a startup when it was first released but nearly five years later, Teague Egan has built a brand that is now worth its weight in Lithium.
